TROMSØ - SKJERVØY - LYNGEN - TROMSØ
We welcome you to experience the Arctic wildlife and the spectacular nights in this all-inclusive 4 days, 3 nights whale and aurora borealis cruise expedition.
This time of the year is the ideal time to spot orcas and humpback whales as they travel up the Northern Norwegian coastline for the millions of herring that come here to spawn each year.
You will search for whales in the day while being awed by the beautiful scenic landscape and be amazed at night by the natural phenomena display of the northern lights all while indulging in fine Arctic cuisine throughout the day.
Along the way there will be a few extra treats. Among them will be going up the Fjellheisen cable car for a picturesque view of the city of Tromsø as well as traveling to the northernmost and award-winning distillery built in an old NATO Cold War base.
At 16:00 we will welcome you to the Norwegian Travel Basecamp in the center of Tromsø City at Sjøgeta 16.
Our expedition team will drive you to Quest, our ship, where you will be introduced to the program and safety briefing. This will be followed by a three-course Arctic cuisine dinner that will prepare you for your first excursion, northern lights at the top of Storsteinen Mountain.
After dinner, we will take the Fjellheisen cable car to the top of the mountain where we will get a spectacular view over Tromsø and its fjords.
Our team will then welcome you back onboard the ship where we will set course to the scenic Lyngen Alps and the best whale watching locations.
This morning we will wake up with whales north of Skjervøy, famously the best place for whale watching.
Our expedition team will navigate us to be amongst the enormous sea animals and depending on weather and sea conditions, we may embark and launch our RIBs for a closer look at our mighty sea friends.
Later in the day, we will continue our expedition towards the protected Lyngen Alps to enjoy some of the most beautiful landscape scenery in Norway.
We can enjoy the scenery in the ship´s panorama lounge that offers a cozy place excellent for enjoying the fjords, mountains and glaciers, though we can also enjoy them and the refreshing artic air on the deck.
After an amazing whale watching day and our Arctic dinner, we will go on an excursion to a location chosen by our expedition team as a good place for viewing and experiencing the northern lights.
This morning you will get to wake up to whales once again as our team has navigated us to another great whale watching destination, while we slept.
Another day of learning and photographing these majestic Arctic animals as we continue to navigate and be surrounded by the amazing Lyngen Alps.
In the evening we will visit the northernmost distillery, Aurora Spirits, where we will learn about their interesting whisky maturation process and how it relates to the disused NATO Cold War base in which it was built. You will have the choice of joining a tasting experience before we head back to the ship for our 3-course Arctic dinner.
After dinner we will go on an excursion to a different location in pursuit of spellbinding northern lights phenomenon.
Today is the last day of our whale expedition and we intend on taking advantage of it by navigating to the perfect location of the day to enjoy more whale watching.
After our Arctic Norwegian lunch, we will start sailing back to Tromsø. Make sure to relax on the panorama lounge or on deck because you may see our sea friends along the way.
We will also get to see all the amazing moments we spent together and all the amazing places we visited and experienced in a slide show prepared by our expedition team.
We arrive in Tromsø approximately at 18:00 where our team can help you determine the best form of transportation to get you back to your accommodations.
