Tour Description
This half-day tour is perfect for anyone looking for a taste of real dog sledding and an authentic Arctic experience with no previous experience needed.
Your experience begins with a scenic 1-hour bus ride from Tromsø to pur outdoor camp in Malangen.
Upon arrival, friendly staff will welcome you and provide warm outdoor gear and boots to keep you comfortable during the activity.
Before heading out, you'll get an introduction to the world of dog sledding. Meet the huskies up close, learn how they are cared for, and discover the basics of mushing from experienced guides.
After a safety briefing and instructions from professional mushers, you’ll set off on a ±3,5 km trail through stunning Arctic nature. Paired up in twos, you’ll take turns driving the sled and sitting as a passenger, switching roles halfway through the ride. The ride lasts about 30 minutes and is the most thrilling way to explore Northern Norway!
After the sledding, warm up inside a cozy cabin with hot drinks and a slice of traditional Norwegian cinnamon cake. It’s a great moment to relax, share stories, and ask more questions to your guide about the dogs and life in the Arctic.
Once the visit comes to an end, the bus will take you comfortably back to Tromsø, dropped off at the same location where you were picked up.

- Moderate athleticism is required – having the ability to walk 100 meters, stand and move around on a sled for around 15 minutes and have a basic level of agility.
- Please let us know of any physical conditions that we should be aware of when preparing for the tour.

- Accessibility: Accessible to those who can stand, balance, and have moderate arm- and leg strength to control the sled.
This tour is not accessible for wheelchair users. - Above a certain group size, the group will be split in half. The first half will first head out for the dog sledding experience, while the second half will have hot drinks and coffee, meet our young dogs and learn about huskies from our knowledgeable guides. Upon return of the first group, we switch places and the second group will head out on their dog sledding experience.
- Duration of the sled ride: 10-15 min driving, 5 min stop, 10-15 min as passenger
- Cancellation due to weather: For the safety of animals and guests, there’s a small risk of cancellation in dangerous surface conditions (bad weather conditions). In those cases, you will be offered to reschedule your tour to a different venue or time slot, another substitute product, or a full refund.
