Evening Snow Shoe Hike and Basecamp Experience
This tour does include a transfer from and back to Tromsø.
On this tour, you will begin the evening with a transfer to a selected area on Kvaløya, just a short ride in a minivan from Tromsø city centre. At the starting point, you will meet your guide and receive snowshoes, poles, and a headlamp for the evening’s adventure.
Together, we set off into the backcountry, gaining a bit of elevation to escape light pollution and enjoy views of the surrounding mountains and fjords. If the evening skies are kind to us, we’ll be in a perfect spot to capture that magical Northern Lights photo. Our guides are knowledgeable in photography and can offer tips and assistance to help you set up your camera for the best shot.
On snowshoes, we make our way towards our tented basecamp by the seaside, where we’ll spend the rest of the evening around the campfire, surrounded by stunning scenery — perfect for more photo opportunities.
Our basecamp is set up with gamme tents, which are warm, cozy, and traditionally used by the Sámi people when traveling in the backcountry. They’re worth a visit on their own — a comfortable place to warm up if the Arctic chill sets in, while you listen to stories and ask your guides about life in the North.
We end the evening with a transfer back to the original meeting point.
