Treat yourself to a guided tour direct from downtown Tromsø to the magical winter wonderland of Tromsø Ice Domes, where you can top up your cultural experience with Reindeer sledding & Sami Culture.
Upon arrival at Camp Tamok, we dress in warm winter clothes and boots and then head off to explore the ancient part of Sami culture and try the oldest form of transport in the north.
As our reindeer herd is some distance from our barking huskies, your adventure will start with a short transfer by minibus to our Sami Camp. This fascinating cultural adventure includes reindeer sledding, an introduction to lasso throwing, storytelling about the Sami culture and feeding the reindeer. The Sami culture & Reindeer sledding takes 1,5 hours itself.
After your reindeer and Sami culture, the next excursion will begin with a visit to the Tromsø Ice Domes. Set among high mountains in the beautiful Tamok Valley, Tromsø Ice Domes are built yearly as the Polar Night approaches. At the Ice Domes, you will join a guided tour and learn about the construction process of the ice hotel and the impact the snow has on the survival of our arctic animals.
There will be time to walk around freely, ask the experienced guide questions, and admire the unique snow and ice art carved by professional artists. A non-alcoholic ice shot at the stunning ice bar is complimentary. There is also a small group of reindeer at the Tromsø Ice Domes for our guests to visit.
Note! Children under the age of 4 years are not permitted.
