Activity 1: Whale & Arctic Wildlife Safari

Cruise with us to the whale sighting area along the coast of Northern Norway. Enjoy the Arctic scenery along the way and get to observe the wildlife in their natural habitat. The humpback and killer whales migrate to Northern Norway, along the coast of Troms to feed on the Atlantic herring throughout the winter months (mid-October until the end of January). During these months, we organize Whale & Arctic Wildlife Safari from Tromsø by boat. Our catamaran departs from the harbour of Tromsø center. The direction and duration of the tour will depend on the weather conditions and the most probable whale sightings. Some days we need to travel up to three hours to reach the whale sighting area. The journey by boat offers scenic views as we cruise between islands and fjords with an amazing mountain backdrop. Once we have spotted the whales, we spend as much time as possible in the sighting area. We drift along with the whales during this time, and we gently follow their path with awareness of our presence in their natural environment.

The duration of the tour is from 5 up to 7 hours. Our boat is spacious with a comfortable, warm lounge with panoramic windows, a small kiosk, lavatories, and several outside decks.

Note:

- We cannot guarantee whale sightings as we depend on marine life in their natural habitat on this wildlife tour. Sighting might also be affected by difficult weather conditions.

- If you don't see any whales on your tour, you can book a second tour for free. (Subject to availability on the next tour)

- Keep in mind that the weather in the Arctic can be rough. If becoming seasick is your concern, we recommend taking seasickness medicine half an hour before the tour starts.

Meeting Time & Place: 08:45 at the harbourside of Kystens Hus, Stortorget 1, Tromsø.

Activity 2: Northern Lights Chase to Aurora Camps

Maximize your chances of seeing the northern lights on this exciting tour combining the northern lights chase with a visit to one of our aurora camps.
For this tour you will be picked up from our meeting point in the city center of Tromsø, from where we set off by bus to chase the northern lights. Along the way we will search for locations with low light pollution, minimal cloud coverage and scenic backdrop to make some photo stops.
Which one of our camps we go to will depend on the latest aurora and weather forecast, decided upon by our guides prior to (sometimes during) the tour. All of our camps have cabins or comfortable lavvus (Sami tents), while toilet facilities are located on the bus.
At the camp, we will serve a warm stew and enjoy a warm beverage around the fire as we wait for the northern lights to occur.
If you are lucky and the northern lights start flickering above in the sky, the guide will assist you when making your own photos and will take some portrait photos which will be sent to you after the tour.

Of course we can't offer any guarantees since the northern lights are a natural phenomenon, but we promise to use all our experience to maximize our chances of a successful chase

Note:

- There is no refund if the northern lights do not appear, however you may book the same tour a second time at 50% discount at our sales shop in Tromsø.

- Please inform us in advance of allergies or any other dietary restrictions

- Warm winter clothes, boots and tripods are provided by us at the start of the tour.
