Guided Winter Sea Kayaking - Incl. Transfer

After pickup and transfer from Sommarøy, the guided tour begins with a safety briefing from our local and certified guides. All guides are experienced with kayaking in the cold environments and will give you an introduction to winter sea kayaking before heading out. On our winter tours we paddle sturdy double kayaks, but you may paddle singles on request if you can document sufficient kayaking skills.
You will be equipped with a drysuit to stay warm and comfortable on your kayak trip. During the winter months, we mostly kayak out in areas like Kaldfjorden and Eidkjosen. Depending on the weather and sea conditions, routes may include sheltered sounds, islands, and quiet archipelagos. Wildlife in this area thrives year-round so we keep an eye out for sea eagles, otters, seals, and flocks of seabirds while gliding across the calm Arctic waters.
After the tour, return to basecamp to warm up by the fire with hot drinks and snacks while sharing stories from the day.
