Reindeer Sledding Evening - Excl. Transport

Reindeer sledding has been practiced for thousands of years and is therefore deeply rooted in the traditions and way of life of the indigenous Sami people. It has been an integral part of Arctic livelihoods and transportation for generations, making it one of the oldest forms of transportation in this region. Immerse yourself in their culture on this authentic evening reindeer sledding experience at Camp Tamok.

This activity does not include bus transportation. Please arrive at Camp Tamok, 15 minutes prior to the start of the activity.

Upon arrival at Camp Tamok, you will get outfitted with the essential gear including thermal suits, boots, and gloves, ensuring comfort and warmth for the evening ahead.
As our reindeer herd is some distance away from the dog yard, this activity will start with a short transfer by minibus. This cultural adventure includes a short reindeer sledding tour, storytelling about the fascinating Sami culture and feeding of the reindeer. There are about 5-6 reindeer in the camp.
Although this tour does not focus on chasing the northern lights, as you will find yourself surround by total darkness and away from all light pollution, you might get lucky and witness them, adding an extra touch of magic to this evening adventure.
After your encounter with the reindeer, you will return to Camp Tamok, where a warm meal awaits in one of our traditional lavvus (indigenous Sámi tent). With food and drinks served, gathered around the open fire, you will get the chance to warm up, relax and exchange experiences and stories with your fellow adventurers.
