Snowshoe Hiking Experience at Sommarøy
This tour starts from Sommarøy Arctic Hotel. Please meet up 10 minutes before departure time at the reception.
After meeting your guide at the reception desk, you will join a short transfer by bus to one of the nearby mountains chosen for the day based on the best conditions and views. At the foot of the mountain, you will gear up with snowshoes and poles and begin your ascent. Snowshoeing is easy to learn, and your experienced local guide will ensure a safe and enjoyable hike. Along the way, you will hear stories about winter life in the Arctic, local wildlife, and the natural surroundings. As you reach the summit, you will be rewarded with panoramic views of snow-covered mountains, fjords and scattered islands bathed in the magical winter light.
There will be time to enjoy the view, take photos, and possibly spot wildlife such as Arctic hares, ptarmigans, or even an eagle overhead. After the descent, the tour finishes with a warm drink and cinnamon bun or waffles back at the Sommarøy Arctic Hotel.
