Summer Dogsledding on Wheels
Dogsledding is an integral part of Norwegian culture and now you can experience it even during the summer. Instead of a sled, a team of Alaskan huskies–a friendly, social bunch of incredible canine athletes–pull you in a wagon on wheels through forest roads and around the world’s northernmost18-hole golf court, while admiring the breathtaking landscape of the beautiful mountains of the Lynden Alps.
Guided Hike on Hillesøy
Who knew you could find the Riviera above the Arctic Circle? But it’s there if you know where to look: located about one hour outside of Tromsø you find the island Hillesøy. Like many of the islands in the area of Sommarøy, it has secluded white beaches and turquoise shallow waters lying at the feet of picturesque mountains. Join us on a hike up the hill to explore this unique area from sea to top.
Guided Sea Kayaking Tour at Sommarøy
Join us to the Sommarøy archipelago, a beautiful destination for sea kayaking thanks to its secluded white sandy beaches, turquoise waters and a backdrop of spectacular mountains.
To get a close and personal experience, there is no better way than to jump in a drysuit, take a sea kayak and quietly paddle around yourself. Explore the islands from water level, enjoy lunch on a secluded beach and just marvel at the breathtaking vistas. Just remember to always be on the lookout for winged or finned marine life – who knows when you might spot a majestic sea eagle or a friendly porpoise?
Easy Hike & Sightseeing near Sommarøy
Tromsø has even more to offer than the beautiful city itself: whatever supernatural artist painted the magical landscape of the area must have shaken their brush one last time before they finished their masterpiece and sprayed their sea-canvas with small dots of land, each a small, lovely island of their own. And one of those islands created was named Store Sommarøya (the big Island of Summer), about one hour drive from Tromsø.
Sea Eagle Safari in Sommarøy
Take the chance to explore the wild exposed coast of Sommarøy by boat. Cruise along the islands and cliffs of the archipelago in search of the majestic birds of prey, the Sea Eagles.
Hiking with Vikings
Join us on a journey back in time at the Tønsviking Medieval homestead. The journey starts in Tromsø city center where you will be picked up and driven to the mainland where your Viking adventure will begin. After a short drive, we will leave our vehicle behind and go on for a lovely, 1 kilometer hike in the wilderness.
Guided Tour to Hella
If you have brought your time machine with you for your Tromsø visit, good for you and beware of the dinosaurs. For anyone else interested in going back in time, join our tour to the sinister sounding but in fact heartwarmingly lovely Hella.
