Camp Tamok - Full Day Package
Join us from the city center of Tromsø on a 90-minute scenic bus drive to Camp Tamok, located in the beautiful Tamok Valley.
Activity 1: Daytime Activity of your choice
Upon arrival, we will provide you with warm winter clothing, boots and the necessary gear before you head off on your daytime activity. Choose between:
- Advanced Dog Sledding Daytime
- Snowmobiling Daytime
- Reindeer Sledding Daytime
Activity 2: Camp Stay
After the daytime activity, most people will return to Tromsø by bus. Since you have chosen to stay a full day at the camp (combining a daytime and evening activity), we have made it possible for you to stay at Camp Tamok in between activities.
During this time, you will have the chance to explore the camp by yourself. Explore the beautiful surroundings, spend time at the dog yard, relax by the campfire inside the lavvu (read a book, play a game or socialize with others) or gather around the campfire outside.
At 17:00 we will grill sausages on the open fire and you will be informed by your camp host where you must meet up to start your evening activity (starting 18:30)
Activity 3: Evening Activity of your choice
Choose between:
- Snowmobiling Evening
- Reindeersledding Evening
- Northern Lights Visit
When returning to Camp Tamok after your evening activity, there will be some time to relax and warm up as we are serving dinner around the open fire in a reindeer herder’s tent.
After dinner, your full day at Camp Tamok has come to an end, and it is time to head back by bus to Tromsø city center.

- Please read the descriptions of each activity for more specific practical information before booking the package: availability, what is included in each activity, restrictions and minimum age for children.
- Certain activities have different season start dates, therefore may not be available to choose as a part of this Full Day Package when making the booking.
Food and beverages
After both tours, we will serve a complimentary traditional Norwegian soup/stew. The main ingredients are vegetables with meat or fish.
Dietary requirements
- Please advise us during your booking of any food allergies or dietary restrictions.
- If no notice is given in advance, an extra fee of 150 NOK will be charged.
Restrictions
When making a booking for a child (7-11) for both our dogsledding and snowmobiling activity, please kindly always inform us of the age, as our guides will then be able to prepare accordingly. Please note that each child must be accompanied by an adult.
What to bring or wear
- Dressing in warm winter clothing and in layers so you can adjust your clothing to the weather.
- Bringing a scarf in cold weather.
Self-drive tour
Important note when selecting Dog Sledding as one of your activities:
This advanced dog sledding adventure has been labelled as a challenging activity with high difficulty level:
- The tour requires strength and fitness from all our guests, and a good physical condition is necessary to participate.
- Be prepared for outdoor weather conditions which can be harsh and unpredictable during Arctic winter. Temperatures often drop below freezing, with averages ranging from -10°C to -20°C.
- Some parts of the trail can be covered with a fresh layer of snow or go uphill which means in both cases you will have to help the dogs to push the sled.
- The trail can be narrow and have sharp bends, which requires a good balance to steer the sled.
- Since you will be sharing the sled with another person it is required for both of you to meet these requirements when swapping places halfway the tour.
- Our guides are entitled to deny drivers and passengers to join this tour out of health and safety reason.
