Camp Tamok - Cabin Overnight Package with Ice Domes Visit

Enjoy creating your Arctic experience at Camp Tamok. Tailor-make your own overnight program by selecting your activities and preferred accommodation. Select from snowmobiling, reindeer Sledding, snowshoeing, and a northern lights tour combined with a visit to Tromsø Ice Domes.

Join us at Tromsø city center for a 90-minute bus drive to Camp Tamok, located in the beautiful Tamok Valley. Camp Tamok has been exclusively built as a wilderness camp with a balance of authenticity and comfort. At the camp you will find traditional and rustic Northern Norwegian buildings: several lavvus, timber cabins and Arctic glamping tents, toilet facilities, as well as husky kennel and reindeer camp.
Upon arrival, we will provide you with warm winter clothing, boots and gear before you head off on your evening activity.
Choose between:

  • Snowmobiling
  • Reindeer Sledding
  • Northern Lights Visit

After the evening activity, there will be time to relax and warm up inside as we will serve a hot meal around the open fire in a reindeer herder’s tent, at the camp. After the meal, around 22:30, you can check in to your accommodation for the evening.
Choose between:

  • Arctic Glamping*
  • Aurora Chalet*
  • Char Cabin*
  • Wilderness Cabin*

* Note Single Supplement for all Cabin Types: If you are making a reservation for 1 person only, a mandatory surcharge to enable private use of one of our cabins has to be added to your reservation. Please select this option (adding additional fees) on the last step "Finalize booking", when booking this package.

The next morning starts with a traditional Norwegian breakfast followed by the daytime activity of your choice.
Choose between:

  • Snowmobiling with Ice Domes Visit
  • Reindeer sledding with Ice Domes Visit
  • Snowshoeing with Ice Domes Visit

After the activity, we will serve lunch and your adventures will continue with a guided tour of the Ice Domes. As part of this combination tour, there will be some free time to walk around by yourself and visit the reindeer that are herding next to the Ice Domes. Eventually, your daytime adventure has come to an end and it will be time to board the bus back to Tromsø city center.

Level of difficulty

Important note when selecting Dog Sledding as one of your activities:
To drive your own dogsled requires strength and fitness and a good physical condition is necessary to participate: Some parts of the tracks can be covered with a fresh layer of snow or go uphill which means in both cases you will have to help the dogs to push the sled. The trail can be narrow and have sharp bends, which requires a good balance to steer the sled.
To help you prepare for your activity, we have created two Safety Instructions Video. See them below:
