Full Day Package with Snow Park Visit, Wilderness Experience & Snow Carving - Incl. Transport

Spend a whole day at Camp Tamok and combine a visit to Tromsø Ice Domes Snow Park, wilderness experiences and snow carving during the day with an evening activity of your choice.

Your full day-adventure will begin with a 1,5-hour bus ride from Tromsø to the remote Tamok valley. Upon arrival at the camp, you can freshen up and get geared up in the warm winter clothes and boots we provide, ensuring you stay warm and comfortable throughout your stay at the camp. Our camp host will inform you about the day's program. Divided into smaller groups you will participate in a variety of engaging experiences, some accompanied by a guide, others to explore independently.  

Snow Park Visit, Wilderness Experience and Snow Carving
Learn the essential survival skills from your knowledgeable guide as you partake in the art of crafting a campfire, essential for staying comfortable on a cold winter's day. Master the art of starting an outdoor fire yourself and gather around its warmth and light while you immerse yourself in captivating stories about the local lifestyle and the rich culture of the Arctic region. Grill your own sausage on the open fire while we will serve a warm soup and hot berry juice keeping you warm and cozy outdoors. 

Get active and try navigating through snow-covered terrain on tandem skis. Race the other team for an extra dose of excitement! Learn about the history and evolution of skis, from a traditional form of transportation to its recreational & competitive forms today. 

Get close to the two most iconic animals of Northern Norway: cuddle and take photos with our huskies and go visit the reindeers near the park. Inspired by the works of professional snow artists, you will get the unique chance of using your creative skills in shaping your own snow sculpture! 

With the guidance of an experienced instructor and divided in small groups, you can pick up your own carving tools and start sculpting your own masterpiece out of a large block of compressed and hard snow.

Camp Stay
After the first activities, most people will return to Tromsø by bus. Since you have chosen to stay a full day at the camp. we have made it possible for you to stay in between activities. During this time, you will have the chance to explore the camp by yourself. Explore the beautiful surroundings, spend time at the dog yard, relax by the campfire inside the lavvu (read a book, play a game or socialize with others) or gather around the campfire outside. 

At 17:00 we will grill sausages on the open fire at the camp. The camp host will inform you on where to meet up for your evening activity. 

Evening Activity
Depending on your choice of activity (upon booking), you will head out on a snowmobiling tour, or join our Sami Culture experience or the northern lights visit. 

After your evening activity, you will return to the camp, where a warm meal awaits in one of our traditional lavvus (indigenous Sámi tent). With food and drinks served, gathered around the open fire, you will get the chance to relax and share stories of your recent adventures. After the meal, it is time to board the bus and return to Tromsø, taking with you great memories of your day in the Arctic wilderness.
